Akshay Kumar is one superstar who never does things half-heartedly. After wowing the audience with his critically acclaimed films like Rustom, Airlift, PadMan and Gold recently he is all set to embark on a new journey and make his debut on the digital platform. Today, at the launch of his new web series tentatively titled The End for Amazon Prime Video the actor literally set himself on fire and took to the stage. His daredevil act shocked everyone who was present at the launch event. What has taken many by surprise is the fact that Akshay is the first A-lister superstar to lead a web series.
Talking about what prompted him to jump on the digital bandwagon Akshay gave the credit to his son Aarav Bhatia. He said, “My son Aarav is my teacher, he inspired me to get in to the digital world. He told me that I have to get into the digital space. It’s amazing to learn from the youngsters.” Watch him talk about his inspiration in the video below.

The web series is supposed to be an action-oriented one and it will be great to see Akshay make a return to what made him a star in the first place. Akshay earned name and fame and his moniker ‘Khiladi Kumar’ because of his exemplary martial arts skills and stunts that he did in his younger days in action films. The web series will see him don his action avatar once again after a considerable lapse of time. However, when he was asked about making a comeback to action through the web series The End he said, “I never went away from action. Action is within me, I'm a stuntman first then an actor.”

Talking about the project, Akshay also said, “It’s going to be a fun and entertaining story. Its fiction yet a human story. I can’t talk much about it at the moment. But it will have me doing a lot of action.” The Amazon Prime Video series is bankrolled by Abundantia Entertainment.

We, now, mutually felt that it was time to take things to the next level. I am proud that he makes his digital debut with Amazon Prime Video & Abundantia in a genre-defining, edge-of-the-seat action drama series. Unafraid of taking risks, we are certain that he would be perfect for the character he plays on the show and his fans would be excited to see him back in an action-packed role. This time, Akshay will take his action and stunts to a never-seen-before level. I am equally delighted to once again work with the wonderful team at Amazon Prime Video and take Abundantia’s high-quality story-telling to the next level.”
