Digital medium is growing by leaps and bounds in India. It has become so lucrative in no time that several mainstream Bollywood stars are venturing into it without any second thought. Just like several other leading B-town production houses, superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment is also showing great interest in creating web content. The production house recently finished shooting for its maiden web-show Bard of Blood based on a book by the same name. The series, starring Emraan Hashmi and Kirti Kulhari in principal roles, is currently in post-production and is expected to stream on Netflix in the second half of the year.
Shah Rukh Khan’s second web production is Class of 83. Toplined by Bollywood star Bobby Deol, the Netflix original film started rolling a few weeks ago. It is being helmed by Atul Sabharwal.
After Bard of Blood and Class of 83, Shah Rukh Khan has greenlighted his third web-show. Titled Betaal, the series is expected to begin production soon. If a credible source is to be believed, actor Vineet Kumar Singh, who entered Bollywood with Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz (2018), has been locked to play the male lead in the series. Interestingly, Vineet will also be seen in Khan's Bard of Blood in a pivotal role.

Director Patrick Graham, who directed Ghoul (2018), the second Netflix original from India, will call the shots for Betaal. He is also the writer of the series. More details are expected to arrive soon.
