Exclusive: Aahana Kumra bags SRK’s third Netflix show 'Betaal'

Remember, we told you that Shah Rukh Khan had green-lighted his third web project after The Bard of Blood and Class of 83 which are at various stages of production? And we also mentioned in the same report that Mukkabaaz actor Vineet Kumar Singh, who is a part of Emraan Hashmi’s The Bard of Blood, will play the lead while Ghoul fame Patrick Graham will helm it?

Now, PeepingMoon.com has learned that Aahana Kumra who essayed Priyanka Gandhi in this year's The Accidental Prime Minister will be playing the female lead in the series. Apart from Vineet and Aahana, actress Suchitra Pillai who starred in films like Dil Chahta Hai, Page 3 and Fitoor has been roped in to play a pivotal role. Theatre actor Siddharth Menon who was last seen in a cameo in Irrfan Khan's Karwaan is yet another latest addition to the cast.

Although the storyline of the project has been kept under wraps, Betaal is reportedly a never-seen-before kind of horror show that will disturb the audience, making them reflect on what they've seen while lying awake at night. Expected to be high on VFX, the series marks the second horror project from SRK's banner after Kaal (2005) which starred Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi among others in lead roles.

The series has apparently already gone on floors somewhere in Mumbai and will be wrapped up by September-end. Patrick Graham, whose first mini-series was based on the Arab folklore monster Ghoul, is taking the horror genre in India a notch higher with this show.
