The popular digital content streaming platform Netflix is back with the second season of its successful and cult series Sacred Games. Sacred Games 2 has shaped up to become a thrilling, engaging show and has kept the audience on the edge of their seat with interesting pre-release content. After introducing Ganesh Gaitonde aka Nawazuddin Siddiqui's revamped self and his back story in terms of relationship with Jojo, Netflix has shifted focus to Sartaj Singh played by Saif Ali Khan. The platform, after unveiling Sartaj's first character promo, they have unveiled the second one dedicated to his troubled married life with Megha aka Anupria Goenka.
The second Sartaj Singh promo showcases his desire to reconcile with his estranged wife Megha and meets her up to convince her to come back to him. In the clip, an emotional Sartaj requests Megha to give their relationship another chance. He also expresses his fear of losing her to death but she refuses to pay heed. This video has set the premise of Sartaj's story in the fresh season and has built the curiosity to find out more about his relationship with her.
Saif aka Sartaj, in an interview, said Sacred Games 2 will delve deeper into his relationship with his father, an honest inspector and his wife. "There is a character development. It goes back into his past - his relationship with his father and ex-wife. All the points which were touched upon in the first season, you get to go in-depth exploration," Saif told.
Inspired by author Vikram Chandra's best-selling novel, the first season of Sacred Games received viewer appreciation and critical acclaim worldwide for its gritty plot and power-packed performances. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan have directed the new season. The intriguing Guruji (actor Pankaj Tripathi), introduced in season one as Gaitonde's 'third father', plays a pivotal role in unfolding a chain of events that shape the next season. The second season introduces new characters played by Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey. The fresh season is all set to go on air on August 15, 2019 on Netflix.
