Ekta Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most successful women in the country right now and why not. With back to back commercial films and television show successes, the head honcho of Balaji Motion Pictures, Balaji Telefilms and ALT Balaji has given pure entertainment a new definition. Now, with her upcoming web series based on Mission Over Mars aka Mangalyaan titled M-O-M, the producer is all set to venture into a different space on the digital platform. Featuring Mona Singh, Sakshi Tanwar, Palomi Ghosh and Nidhi Singh, M-O-M orbits around the story of women scientists who were responsible for the launch of the mission in 2013. Ahead of the teaser launch of the series, the makers unveiled the first look of its leading daily on their social media platforms and introduced them to the audience.
Starting with Sakshi, the versatile actress plays the role of Nandita Hariprasad, who is a strict disciplined Mission Coordinator of M-O-M. Sakshi, if the poster is anything to go by, seems to be a hard taskmaster who decides to launch a mission and leaves no stone unturned to make it successful.
Coming to Mona, she is portraying the character of Moushumi Ghosh, a scientist at the space agency. A fighter and a competitor to the core, Mona's Nandita is the one who seeks perfection in everything.
Nidhi is Neetu Sinha, a maths wizard, who worries about 0.001% chances of failure rather than celebrating a 99.99% chance of success. In the poster, Nidhi seems to be a straight forward, no-nonsense person who prefers to get everything done perfectly.
Palomi as Meghan Reddy is a character with a sharp tongue. Strict, less expressive yet a fine and talented scientist, Palomi's Meghan is high IQ and low EQ.
M-O-M is an inspiring story of four women scientists at Indian Space Agency, who overcome insurmountable technical deficiencies to mount the successful Mars Orbiter Mission. Showcasing the multidimensional lives they lead as wives, daughters, mothers, and space scientists, the series focuses on how the four ladies decimate all obstacles, both social and scientific, making India proud. Touted to be mounted on a budget of Rs.35 Cr., the show has been shot on 500 different sets. M-O-M will be helmed by Nupur Asthana. M-O-M is based on the three women scientists who were critical in making Mangalyaan a reality - Seetha Somasundaram, Nandini Harinath and Minal Rohit.
