Steve Carell is back in the game with a new series after The Office. He is playing the lead in Netflix series Space Force whose trailer has been dropped online. Carell who earned praise for playing the foolish yet delightful Michael Scott in Greg Daniel’s The Office has once again reunited with him for Space Force. The teaser aims to be funny and sees Carell play the man-in-charge of USA’s Space Force project which is going to set the country’s space dominance. Space Force is a new section of USA’s defense and looks like it borrows from real-life events of the last few months.
However, the laughs are few and far between in the Space Force trailer and do not bode well with the audience’s expectations after The Office. The only genuinely funny moment is when Carell’s general tries to compose himself in his office by singing the rock band Beach Boys’ 1988 hit Kokomo. However, we have faith in Daniel’s and Carell’s abilities and hopefully, the series will be a laugh-a-riot, since its cast is packed with great comedic performers.
