With the entire country in lockdown, almost everyone is getting used to working from home. Be it WiFi issues, screaming children in the background, making your bed, your desk, getting up a minute before the video call with your bosses, all of us are gradually adjusting to this never seen before lifestyle. In the midst of all of this, Applause Entertainment’s - The Office produced by BBC Studios India has released a special ‘Working from Home’ episode. After all, we all missed the antics of the staff of Wilkins Chawla, didn’t we?
‘The Office WFH’ video showcases the characters joining via video-conferencing, to brainstorm on the ideas to keep the paper business growing during the nationwide lockdown. With the Wilkins Chawla employees trying to cope with the regional manager Chadda’s distractive enthusiasm and find a solution to the requirement stated by the head office, the episode touches all the corners of a typical corporate video-call, adding the perfect dose of relatable humor, for the audience.

Led by the brilliant Mukul Chadda and Gauahar Khan, the video also stars Sayandeep Sengupta, Abhinav Sharma, Priyanka Setia, Preeti Kochar and Gavin Methalaka, and is written by Aarsh Vora, Shruti Madan and Chirag Mahabal. This is a pro-bono and heartfelt effort by the cast and writers to bring a chuckle in these trying times. And for every ‘The Office WFH’ video produced, Applause Entertainment will make a contribution on behalf of the cast & crew of The Office towards the daily wage workers fund of the Producers Guild of India.
Sharing her experience, Gauahar Khan said, “It is extremely important we keep ourselves engaged and productive during this quarantine period and so do the employees at Wilkins Chawla. It was quite exciting shooting this one episode, with the most fun team for one of my favourite shows ‘The Office’. I’m looking forward to more. Hope the audiences enjoy and appreciate our little effort.”
Talking about the video Mukul Chadda said, “Each of us is making the most of our time during the lockdown. It is extremely essential to keep our morale up through these trying times. Applause Entertainment and BBC Studios India has come up with this heartfelt campaign and I’m glad I got to be a part of it with the amazing cast of The Office. As an artist, I believe it’s my responsibility to keep the audience entertained wherever we are, and I’m sure we’ll make the most of this opportunity to engage with our fans.”
Sharing his excitement Sayandeep Sengupta said, “This global pandemic has brought the entire world to a standstill. In such dire times, it is important to take care of your mental and physical health. So, we got together to bring this spinoff for our audiences. A little happiness from The Office India team to you all and glad to be a part of this social initiative by Applause Entertainment and BBC studios India.’’
