Saif Ali Khan is all set to explore more of the digital zone with Amazon Prime Video's Dilli. The web series which was formerly titled Tandav marks Saif's return to the web space after Sacred Games and has piqued the interest of many already. The political drama is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Although several makers are speeding up the post-production work for advance release of the shows, Ali says he would rather not join the rat race.
"On Twitter and Instagram, people have been asking us to release the show now. So, there has been pressure, but we don't want to rush the process. Our series was supposed to drop in the last quarter of 2020, and we will stick to that deadline. If the show was ready, we would have released it now because it is an ideal time to grab eyeballs," Ali told a leading daily. Adding that the post-production is a long-drawn process, Ali said, "Once you deliver your project, it has to be dubbed in nine languages. So, the post-production takes three to four months, longer than the shoot itself." Before the project releases, he has confirmed that second season is also in the pipeline, thereby revealing, "[The top brass of] Amazon Prime have seen the rushes, and basis that, they have decided to sanction the second edition."
Clearly, the film is yet to find a working title but has already found its second season. When Ali was asked about the irony of the situation, Ali signed off by saying, "We are struggling with the name. That's why Amazon has not been able to make an official announcement."
Dilli stars Dimple Kapadia, Sarah Jane Dias, Sunil Grover and Amyra Dastur.
