‘The moment I shook hands with him, mandolins started playing in my head,’ says Jitendra Joshi on meeting Shah Rukh Khan at ‘Betaal’ wrap-up party

Marathi actor Jitendra Joshi not only got an opportunity to make a comeback to Netflix with Shah Rukh Khan’s production Betaal after Sacred Games but also gave him a chance to express his gratitude to the superstar who has been an inspiration throughout his career. Joshi said that SRK’s journey of becoming Bollywood’s greatest star on his own merit has motivated him to work harder.

In an interview he said, “He has inspired me so much in my youth. I have lived and grown up with Shah Rukh Khan. Betaal is my thank-you note to Shah Rukh Khan. I will keep thanking him all my life for being an inspiration. I'm a Shah Rukh Khan fan.”

He said that he remembers the magical moment when the star visited the sets after the wrap. He said, “King Khan arrived on the sets with all his charm and the moment I shook hands with him, mandolins started playing in my head (referring to SRK’s iconic scene from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge). All his songs like Woh Toh Hai Albela... it all played in mind. It was so heartwarming to meet a man who has reached such heights after so much struggle.

Jitendra features in a negative role in Betaal. Betaal also features Viineet Kumar, Aahana Kumra, Suchitra Pillai, Jatin Goswami and Siddharth Menon. SRK has produced the show under his banner Red Chillies Entertainment.
