PeepingMoon.com, in an exclusive piece dated April 28, informed its readers that Karan Johar-produced Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl featuring Janhvi Kapoor in the titular role is heading for a direct-to-web release. The film based on the journey of former Indian Air Force fighter pilot Gunjan Saxena and was scheduled to release in theatres on April 24. However, due to the nationwide lockdown, it got pushed forward. Now, confirming our report, the makers of the film announced its OTT release on Netflix.
Announcing the same, Netflix, on their official Twitter account, shared an intense poster of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. "An extraordinary girl, an extraordinary life. Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl is landing soon!," read the caption.

Karan, who bankrolled Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl under his Dharma Productions, shared a montage of Gunjan's pictures with her family. The video had Janhvi's voiceover.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is directed by debutant Sharan Sharma. The film apart from Janhvi, features Angad Bedi, Pankaj Tripathi, Viineet Kumar and Manav Vij. The first look of the biopic was released on August 29 last year. It was primarily scheduled to hit the screen on March 13 but got pushed to April 24. The fresh release date is yet to be announced. It marks Janhvi's second film post Dhadak in 2018.
