After the humongous success of her Amazon Prime Video series Paatal Lok, Anushka Sharma is all set to tell yet another intriguing tale with Bulbbul on Netflix. The actress-turned-producer, this morning, shared the first look with a motion poster on social media. Bulbbul is said to be a period drama that orbits around old beliefs and superstition.
Speaking of the motion poster, it introduces the audience to a mysterious girl with her feet facing backward. With the backdrop of a blood-red moon, Bulbbul seems to be an intriguing and engaging watch. Calling it a tale of self-discovery and justice wrapped in lore, mystery and intrigue, the actress announced that Bulbbul will release on June 24. "Here's your first look at #Bulbbul, a fantastic tale about self-discovery, and justice, wrapped in lore, mystery and intrigue, coming soon on @netflix_in. Can't wait to share more!" Anushka captioned the motion poster.
Bulbbul, as per reports, is set in a village plagued by haunting tales and mysterious deaths. It is believed to revolve around a young man trying to save a village from the custody of a witch. The film reunites Laila Majnu co-stars Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri in the lead roles. Bulbbul also features Rahul Bose, Paoli Dam, Parambrata Chatterjee amongst others. It is primarily shot in Kolkata.
