The Legend of King Arthur and his magical sword Excalibur are well known. Now, Netflix is bringing the legend through a web series titled Cursed which is a reimagining of of the Arthurian legend told from the perspective of Nimue. The streaming service's upcoming adaptation of Thomas Wheeler and Frank Miller's illustrated novel of the same name stars 13 Reasons Why's Katherine Langford as the protagonist Nimue, a teenage heroine who is destined to become the powerful and tragic Lady of the Lake.
The series’ trailer has been unveiled that shows the tale through the eyes of Nimue and follows her after the death of her mother. In the trailer we see her meeting a young mercenary named Arthur as they search for Merlin to deliver an ancient sword that might be the key to England’s throne. In the trailer, we see Katherine claiming Excalibur (the sword) instead of Arthur.

In the trailer, we see scenes of people being slaughtered at sword point by the Red Paladins and Katherine saying, “They came while we slept, to cleanse the world of our kind because we’re different. Because magic runs through us. Because we have what they want. Legend says this sword belongs to the one, true king, but what if the sword chooses a queen?”
The 10-episode series also stars Devon Terrell, Gustaf Skarsgard, Sebastian Armesto, and Matt Stokoe. Cursed will start streaming on Netflix from July 17.
