The popular crime drama Lucifer is all set to come up with the fifth season in August. However, that's not all, the popular season has been commissioned for a sixth and final season by Netflix as well.
"Set a reminder because S5 part 1 of Lucifer arrives 21 August," a post on Netflix UK's Instagram page read. Created by Tom Kapinos, Lucifer features Tom Ellis, Lauren German, D.B Woodside and Lesley-Ann Brandt in the lead roles. It also stars Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez and Kevin Alejandro.
Netflix also announced a sixth and final season of the series on social media. The news of the final season comes a month after reports that Ellis had closed a deal to return as the titular character for a sixth season. Reportedly, Netflix started talks with the series producer Warner Bros.TV ahead of its fifth season premiere. Executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson closed new deals for the sixth and final season.
