Netflix has given its nod to the second season for Mindy Kaling’s coming-of-age series Never Have I Ever. The series co-created by Mindy and Lang Fisher has been given a go-ahead for a second, 10-part run by the streaming giant. Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan made the announcement on a staged ‘Zoom call’ with co-stars Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young, Jaren Lewison, and Darren Barnet.
Never Have I Ever premiered on April 27 and received much acclaim from the critics for its inclusivity and breaking the stereotypes associated with South Asians. The show revolves around an academically competitive but hot-headed teenager Devi (played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) who wants to date the school heartthrob while coming to terms with her Dad’s death and smoothing her relations with her mother.
We are so excited for a second season of #NeverHaveIEver! It’s all because you guys turned up to watch it and told your friends - it’s that simple! Thank you so much. And THANK YOU to our partners at @Netflix!
