After a decade long sabbatical, Sushmita Sen made a powerful and impactful comeback with Ram Madhvani's Aarya. The Hotstar Specials series premiered on June 19 and has received rave reviews from the audience as well as critics. While the audience can't stop gushing over Sushmita and the rest of the cast, the question regarding the sequel has kept fans on their toes. Addressing the query, director Ram, during an Instagram live with Sushmita, said one has to 'wait for season two'.
After announcing that 'Aarya season two is coming soon', Ram went on to talk about Sushmita's character in the latest edition. "She is going to be wearing a cape this time and she is going to be in leather," Ram joked. He further added, "In season two, like season one, she will be paying the price of what she wants." He said the second season will focus on new hurdles and obstacles in the life of Aarya, who wants to protect her children and run away from the business.
Sushmita, in Aarya, plays the role of a doting mother to three children and wife to Tej Sareen (Chandrachur Singh), a drug lord who is shot dead by an anonymous person. After her husband's untimely and sudden death, she takes over his illegal business to identify his murderer and protect her family against all odds. Apart from Sushmita, Aarya features Namit Das, Sikander Kher, Manish Chaudhari, Vikas Kumar and many others.
