The trailer of Sushant Singh Rajput’s final film Dil Bechara has broken a landmark record on YouTube. The film’s trailer that released on July 6 has become the first trailer to receive more than 10 million ‘likes’. Dil Bechara’s director Mukesh Chhabra and Sushant’s female lead Sanjana Sanghi shared the momentous news on social media.
Dil Bechara’s trailer achieved this milestone in just a week. The love for Sushant was visible in how the video had earned 4.8 million likes in the span of just 24 hours. The trailer had beaten the record of Avengers: Endgame on the first day itself as it clocked 2.9 million likes and now it has more than 7 million views to create the record.
Sanjana and Mukesh shared a post by a page named BoxOfficeStats which announced, “Dil Bechara trailer becomes first trailer in the world to achieve 10 million/1 crore likes.” The most liked video on YouTube currently is Despacito by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee. The video has over 38 miliion ‘likes’.
Sushant breathed his last on June 14. Shortly after his death, Dil Bechara was announced to have a direct OTT release on Disney+Hotstar and will be open for all as a tribute to the late actor. Dil Bechara is an adaptation of the Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars that was based on John Green’s best-seling novel of the same name. The film will release on July 24 on the streaming platform.
