Netflix unveiled the first official trailer of the first eight episodes of the WBTV’s fantasy series Lucifer today. In the new season Tom Ellis is back as Lucifer, who returns to Earth after resuming his role as King of the Underworld for a brief time. However, he seems to be different not because of any changes that he underwent but because he is another character altogether-his twin brother, Michael.
The trailer opens with Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) adjusting to her life without the chief Devil. However, to handle her heartbreak and cope with her loss she starts teaming up and partying with Mazikeen Smith (Lesley-Ann Brandt). However, before things develop further Lucifer makes a return, albeit in this case it’s his twin brother Michael who claims, “I'm not gonna break Lucifer's life. I'm gonna take it.”

The trailer shows an all-out war between Michael and Lucifer. The fifth season was originally billed as the last season of the series but Netflix recently renewed Lucifer for a sixth and final season. Helmed by Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich, Lucifer also stars D.B. Woodside, Rachael Harris, Kevin Alejandro and Aimee Garcia. Season 5 will premiere August 21 on Netflix.
