Watch: Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi Sharma take us on a rollercoaster ride inside a spaceship in their 'out of this world' 'Cargo' trailer

Ever since the teaser of Netflix's Cargo dropped on August 26, viewers have been eagerly waiting for the trailer. Now, the makers of Shweta Tripathi Sharma's and Vikrant Massey's film have finally released the trailer. Based on the topic of space and afterlife that is not explored much in India, Cargo gives us a glimpse of what actually happens after death.

The Rakshasas may have traded gadas and horns for touchpads and spaceships but the ultimate question remains the same - what happens after death? That's exactly what the Cargo trailer showcases. Starring Vikrant as Prahastha, a rakshasa who knows the answer to this most asked question, the film shows how he ‘recycles’ people after death. But his everyday ‘desk job’ does not help him understand an even more important question - the meaning of life. Soon Shweta as Yuvikshka Shekhar, Prahastha's assistant joins his solo team and helps him know the true meaning of life. Cargo will take you on a rollercoaster ride, but inside a spaceship because 'nothing is gone forever'!

Directed by Arati Kadav, the film revolves around demon Prahastha, who has been working on a spaceship for years for the Post Death Transition services with the help of a female astronaut, where dead people are recycled for rebirth. While Vikrant plays the demon, Shweta is cast as the astronaut. Cargo premiered at the 2019 MAMI Film Festival under the spotlight section, and has been screened at several international film festivals.

The film will premiere of Netflix on September 9, 2020!
