Akshay Kumar's upcoming horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. Featuring Kiara Advani, the film is directed by Raghava Lawrence. Laxmmi Bomb was initially scheduled to release in theatres on May 22. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it took the OTT route. Now, putting an end to the wait, Akshay, on Instagram, announced that the horror-comedy will release on November 9, 2020.
Promising that the Diwali week will begin with a big 'explosion', Akshay shared an intriguing clip while announcing the digital premiere of Laxmmi Bomb. In the announcement video, we are informed that Akshay's name in the film is Laxman. However, due to an unforeseen twist of events, a rather supernatural one, he transforms into Laxmmi, a transgender.
"Iss Diwali aapke gharon mein “laxmmi” ke saath ek dhamakedar “bomb” bhi aayega. Aa rahi hai #LaxmmiBomb 9th November ko, only on @disneyplushotstarvip! Get ready for a mad ride kyunki #YehDiwaliLaxmmiBombWaali," Akshay wrote while sharing the announcement video.
Laxmmi Bomb is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kanchana, Laxmmi Bomb is directed by Raghava Lawrence, who starred and helmed the original four-film franchise. Raghava is returning to direct the Akshay-Kiara film too. The film is produced by Cape of Good Films, Fox Star Studios, Tusshar Kapoor and Shabina Khan.
