Makers of Ananya Panday’s and Ishaan Khatter’s Khaali Peeli song Beyonce Sharma Jayegi faced a lot of flak for apparently making a racist innuendo against pop icon Beyonce who is African American. The song’s lyrics, “Tujhe Dekh Ke Goriya, Beyoncé Sharma Jayegi” were deemed offensive and racist by netizens. Following the backlash the makers first changed the spelling of the title from Beyonce to Beyonse as the pop icon had trademarked her name against commercial use.
Now, the makers have completely tweaked the track and made it to Duniya Sharma Jayegi. The line, “Tujhe Dekh Ke Goriya, Beyonce Sharma Jayegi” has been changed to, “Tera dekh ke nakhra duniya sharma jayegi,” which roughly translates to –after seeing your tantrums, the world would feel shy.

The makers had issued clarification on the song as well but finally relented to change the lyrics to suit the mood of the people. The song has been composed by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani and sung by Neeti Mohan and Nakash Aziz. The lyrics of the song have been penned by Kumaar and Raj Shekhar.
Khaali Peeli has been directed by Maqbool Khan and is slated to release on October 2, 2020 on ZeePLex and Zee5.
