Gajraj Rao talks about his first digital outing PariWar, calls it 'funny and interesting'

Gajraj Rao, after stepping into the film industry with Shekhar Kapur's Bandit Queen in 1994, shot to fame with the much-acclaimed Badhaai Ho in 2018. Winning the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, Gajraj instantly became an all-time favourite of the audience. Now, as his glorious run continues, he has signed a web series for the digital platform Disney+Hotstar. Titled PariWar, the six-part comic series also stars Ranvir Shorey, Abhishek Banerjee, Yashpal Sharma, Vijay Raaz and Nidhi Singh. Talking about the series, Gajraj, in an interview with a leading daily, praised the director Sagar Ballary's work, especially Bheja Fry

The actor who plays the role of Kashiram Narayan said PariWar has fulfilled his wish to collaborate with Sagar. Calling Bheja Fry his all-time favourite film, Gajraj told, "Although I have not seen the final cut of PariWar, I trust the script; it is funny and interesting."

Speaking of the ensemble cast, Gajraj said, "It was an amazing experience to collaborate with such talented actors, especially comedian Kumar Varun, who is quite popular in the comedy circuit. He is playing my Man Friday and is the narrator of the show."

Talking about shooting amid the pandemic, the veteran actor added, "The crew and technicians wear PPE suits, masks and shields; we have to deliver our dialogues without any protection. I recently shot two TV commercials. The set felt like an operation theatre."
