The makers of Sony LIV's Scam 1992 have finally released the trailer of their show and it looks promising. Set in 1980’s and ’90s in Bombay, Scam 1992 follows the life of stockbroker Harshad Mehta – his meteoric rise and catastrophic downfall. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta, this series is based on journalists Debashis Basu and Sucheta Dalal’s book, The Scam. Set to go live on October 9 only on SonyLIV, the series features an ensemble cast of Pratik Gandhi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sharib Hashmi, Ananth Mahadevan and more.
The 1 minutes 23 second long trailer showcases the rise and fall on Pratik Gandhi as 'BSE ka Bachchan' Harshad Mehta. The trailer showcases the journey of Harshad's biggest financial scam and how he conducts it.
The series also stars Satish Kaushik, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ananth Mahadevan, and Rajat Kapoor.
Stockbroker Harshad Mehta was popularly known as ‘the Amitabh Bachchan of Stock market’ was the brain behind Rs 5,000 crore 1992 securities scandal. The scam exposed several loopholes in the functioning of the stock market, backs and the financial sector.
