Bhumi Pednekar's Durgavati is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. The supernatural thriller will release on December 11, 2020, on Amazon Prime Video. Now, as the release date is inching closer, the makers dropped in a surprise for fans today. Akshay Kumar, who is presenting Durgavati, informed that the film is now titled Durgamati. A new poster of the film was also shared on social media.
In the poster, Bhumi looks terrifying and spooky as Durgamati. We wonder what secrets are hidden inside a haunted house. "Are you ready? Meet #DurgamatiOnPrime on Dec 11," the production house T-Series wrote while sharing the poster on social media.
Directed by Ashok G, produced by Vikram Malhotra and presented by Akshay and Bhushan Kumar, Durgamati is the official Hindi adaptation of Anushka Shetty's Telugu superhit Bhaagamathie, which orbited around a woman imprisoned in a haunted house while being interrogated in a corruption case involving a politician.
Durgamati, like several other Bollywood films, was scheduled to get a theatrical release. However, due to the pandemic, the makers opted for a digital release.
