The makers of David Dhawan's upcoming rom-com Coolie No.1 released the film's trailer this morning and it sure seems promising. Strarring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, the trailer offers bags full of dhamaal, laughter, and entertainment. The film is a remake of the 1995 Coolie No. 1 which featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles.
What's more? Varun and Sara have recreated Govinda's and Karisma's on-screen magic as the makers have retained two popular songs from the film, Husn Hai Suhana and Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha. The trailer showed both the recreated songs Husn Hai Suhana and Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha. The originals featured Govinda and Karisma and are one of the most iconic songs in Hindi cinema.
From the looks of it, the makers have not remixed the songs and kept it as the originals with new tunes and voice. In the trailer, Sara and Varun are seen grooving to these songs along with an original song titled Mummy Kasam.
The new versions are composed by Tanishk Bagchi and David had earlier promised that he is not going to mess with the original. “It is an important song for our film, and it has heart. But times have changed so I am going to picturise it very differently with Varun and Sara,” David said, adding that songs recall value plays a huge role in a film’s success.
Talking about the originals, the 1995 songs were shot in Bangalore whereas the new ones have been shoot both in India and abroad.
