Richie Mehta directed Delhi Crime created history by winning an International Emmy for the Best Drama Series. The show stars Shefali Shah, Rajesh Tailang, Rasika Dugal, Denzel Smith and Adil Hussain and is based on the horrific 2021 Delhi gang rape case. The series garnered immense praise from all quarters when it released last year.
Now, in an interview with an online portal, Tailang who plays the role of Inspector Bhupender Singh in Delhi Crime, made a surprising revelation which is sure to get the fans whooping with euphoria. Confirming our exclusive news, Tailang said, “We are also working on Delhi Crime Season 2. I can't divulge much on this now, but I can tell you the Season 2 of Delhi Crime is in the making.”
As per our exclusive sources, Delhi Crime Season 2 will be based on 2006 Noida Serial Murders - also known as Nithari Kand - which received much attention from the media due to the heinous nature of the killings. The show will apparently focus on the serial murders that took place in 2005-06 in Noida’s Nithari where children and women disappeared and later their body parts were found in drains in pieces. Seventeen people were allegedly killed during the serial killings, out of which 11 were girls.
Shefali, who played the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vartika Chaturvedi in the first season will reprise her role while Tailang is also said to returning as Inspector Bhupendra Singh. The second season will have more or less the same cast with a few more names added to it.
