Adam Conover, creator and host of truTV’s Adam Ruins Everything has teamed up with Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for a new sketch comedy series for Netflix. However, that’s not all; the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions will pull back the curtain on incumbent US President Donald Trump’s chaotic leadership.
The show titled, The G Word With Adam Conover is based on Michael Lewis’s book The Fifth Risk, the rights to which the Obamas acquired back in 2018 as one of their first projects after setting up Higher Ground and their Netflix production deal. The book covers the historic chaos and mismanagement that occurred within different departments during the handover between the Obama administration and Trump succession. Apparently, the 'G Word' in the title stands for government.
Very happy to finally be able to share this news: I'm creating a new comedy series for Netflix about the federal government. It's called The G Word, and I can't wait to share it with you. https://t.co/cLppFdfoWS

The G Word With Adam Conover was created by Fair Point, run by Conover, Jon Cohen and Jon Wolf. The series will go inside the government machinery and will introduce the civil servants that make it work. The comedy series will reportedly be mixed with documentary evidence and will start shooting in early 2021.
Conover, Cohen, Wolf and Higher Ground’s Tonia Davis and Priya Swaminathan as well as Hallie Haglund, a former writer for The Daily Show will executive produce The G Word With Adam Conover.
