It is safe to say that Netflix’s Bridgerton is already on its way to becoming one of the most-watched Neflix original series of all time, and the world is obsessed with its modernized portrayal of the Regency era or the marriage market. Bridgerton is an escapist piece of period drama fluff that provides a fresh look at the stuff- upper lip bygone era which was plagued by frustrating limitations and racial and class bias.
Nevertheless, the show has given rise to barrage of memes, some funny, some sexy and some downright raunchy. Bridgerton’s popularity is also because of the smoldering intensity of the lead actor Regé-Jean Page who plays Simon Basset aka Duke of Hastings. He has given a whole new dimension to spoons and lit up the internet. Check out some of the tweets on the internet about Page and Bridgerton.
I should believe "to spoon" now takes on quite a different meaning indeed. pic.twitter.com/KTmsDDlCJM
