Bridgerton’s Rege Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor address rumours about them dating in real-life

Netflix’s latest series Bridgerton has become one of the most popular and most watched series on the streaming platform, all thanks to the engaging story, the diverse casting and the crackling chemistry between the lead pair Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page. However, the fans won’t see a real-life romance between Phoebe and Rege who plays Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings respectively.

During a joint interview, Phoebe and Rege laughed off the rumours about them dating off screen. Rege joked and said, “I think everything you need to know is on camera. That's why we presented it so beautifully for you. All the sparks that flew off of the beautiful scripts that we were handed, and so I think that the sparky scripted material are more than enough.”

Both Rege and Phoebe have stolen the hearts of the audience with their performance on the show. Rene’s brooding Duke of Hastings and Phoebe’s delightful and sharp-witted Daphne Bridgerton has got the fans eating out of their hands. Talking about the show, Phoebe said that she was drawn to the script when she realized it would be a Shondaland production and hence the women will have strong characters. She said, “I knew that the women were gonna have real agency. They were not gonna be, you know, timid women... so that was the thing that really excited me."

Based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels, Briderton follows the esteemed British families and the high society as they try to find their best possible match in the ‘marriage market’. The series is seen through the lens of mysterious gossip columnist, Lady Whistledown- voiced by none other than Julie Andrews.

Bridgerton is created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes. Netflix has not yet confirmed a second season of the show, however, a tabloid reported that filming for a project titled Bridgerton 02 is slated to begin in Uxbridge, England in March 2021, suggesting a follow-up to be in the works.
