Tandav: FIR registered against makers and Amazon Prime's India head of original content; I&B Ministry sends notice amid outrage

Saif Ali Khan's Tandav has landed in troubled waters. The Ali Abbas Zafar show is accused of being Hinduphobic and insulting Hindu Gods in a scene featuring Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub. Several political leaders took offence at the particular scene in which Zeeshan, a stage performer is seen playing Lord Shiva and is heard saying, "Azaadi, what the...?" On Sunday, Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam filed a complaint against Tandav's creators, actors and director.

Now, as the outrage against Tandav continues, an FIR has been registered at Lucknow's Hazratganj Kotwali against OTT platform Amazon Prime's India head of original content Aparna Purohit, director Ali, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and others for allegedly hurting sentiments of Hindus.
