Supreme Court sends notice to makers of Mirzapur once again for highlighting sexual relationship between father-in-law and daughter-in-law: Report

Trouble for Mirzapur isn't ending soon. The web show streaming on Amazon Prime Video has landed in a major legal problem once again. According to a portal's report, the Supreme Court has once again issued a notice to the makers of the crime-thriller on Friday.

Reportedly, a person named Sujeet Kumar Singh filed a plea against Mirzapur makers. His advocate Binay Kumar Das reportedly stated that the complainant objected to Rasika Dugal’s character Beena having a sexual relationship with a servant and her father-in-law played by Kulbhushan Kharbanda. "By showing such ridiculous and shameless things on the name of a city/ district is the insult of approximately 30 lakh population and rich culture of Mirzapur," the plea read.

Reportedly, the plea also requested the court to make sure strict guidelines are introduced so that the city isn't shown in a bad and negative light. The notice was reportedly sent to the makers and the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video by a bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde who also made the Centre, production banner Excel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, and Amazon a part of the proceedings.

A few days before, another petition was filed by a Mirzapur resident who felt the show maligned the image of the city in Uttar Pradesh.
