On December 21, 2020, PeepingMoon.com exclusively informed its readers that Netflix's series Bahubali: Before The Beginning has been put on the backburner. A source informed that the OTT giant wasn't happy with the outcome. For the unversed, the two-season show was based on Anand Neelakantan's novel, The Rise of Sivagami and revolved around a fictional character named Sivagami, who first featured in S S Rajamouli's pan-India epic, Bahubali.
Bahubali: Before The Beginning was shot with Mrunal Thakur as young Sivagami. The series will be remade with a new team on board. Now, we have an exciting update. Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi is now starring in the project, and not Mrunal. Reportedly, the Super 30 actress doesn't have dates to reshoot the entire series and hence Wamiqa, who has featured in films like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and others has been roped in.
Netflix India scraps the early announced #BaahubaliBeforeThBeginning and is now revamping it with a new cast and production team.. Punjabi actress @GabbiWamiqa has come on board to play #Sivagami replacing @mrunal0801 while the directors are yet to be locked.. Rolls in September! pic.twitter.com/T1B0nprLpH
