Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni's The Family Man 2's trailer has garnered 40 million views in just 4 days. The trailer of the Raj & DK web show released on May 19. The spy-thriller is one of the most anticipated shows of the year. However, trouble for The Family Man 2 started right after the trailer released. A group of social media users accused the show of being 'anti-Tamil' for portraying them as terrorists.
Now, MDMK general secretary Vaiko, on Sunday, wrote a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and demanded a ban on the release of The Family Man 2. In the letter, Vaiko said that the trailer of the web show highlights Tamilians as terrorists and ISI agents having links with Pakistan. He also claimed that the sacrifices made by Tamil Eelam warriors were wrongly portrayed as a terrorist act. Samantha, who is Manoj's nemesis, plays the character of Raji, an anti-national who has a connection with Pakistani terrorists. The Rajya Sabha MP mentioned that such depictions have hurt the sentiments of Tamil people and culture.
