Impeachment: American Crime Story, produced by Monica Lewinsky and based on the sex scandal and subsequent impeachment trial of former US President Bill Clinton has dropped its first trailer. The third Crime Story installment takes the audience through Clinton’s (Clive Owen) highly publicized and controversial affair with his 22-year-old intern Lewinsky (Beanie Feldstein) and the controversy that not only rocked the nation but the entire world that emerged in its wake.
The trailer also shows Sarah Paulson and Annaleigh Ashford as Linda Tripp and Paula Jones respectively on the series. Paulson can be seen befriending Beanie in the trailer and asking her about details relating to her relationship with Clinton and later on submitting recorded tapes of their phone calls as proof for the case. The trailer even recreates the iconic “I did not have sexual relations with that woman!” speech from Clinton.
