Samantha Akkineni is winning accolades, critical appreciation and of course hearts of the audience for her incredible performance in her debut multilingual web show The Family Man 2. It's been months since the show premiered but the positive chatter about it is yet to settle down. Recently, at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), Samantha bagged an award in the Best Actress in a Series category for The Family Man 2. In an interview with an entertainment portal, the actress reacted to people, including political leaders criticising The Family Man 2 before its release. Samantha apologised for hurting sentiments unintentionally.
"I allow people to have their own opinions. If they decided to stay with that opinion, I am very sorry for hurting anyone's sentiments. I sincerely apologise as it was not something I intended on doing at all. I did not mean to hurt anyone. So, if I did, I am extremely sorry. I am glad that, though, once the show did release, a lot of the noise stopped. I guess some saw it wasn't so bad after all. For the people who didn't and still continue to hold resentment, I sincerely apologise," Samantha told.
For the unversed, netizens slammed The Family Man 2 on the basis of the trailer. They accused the series of portraying Tamilians in a bad light. Political leaders sought a ban on the Raj and DK directorial. The makers, at that time, issued a statement and requested everyone to not jump to conclusions before watching The Family Man 2.
The Family Man 2 starred Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari. Samantha played Raji who was pitted against Srikant.
