Amazon Studios has revealed a series of 23 character posters for its highly-anticipated The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, television series which is based on the prehistory of JRR Tolkien’s best-selling trilogy The Lord of the Rings. The series will be set in Second Age of Middle-earth before the events of Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings novels.
However, the character posters do not give away any details of which actor correspond to each image and has left the fans hanging in suspense. The cast includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani.
The new posters only show the hands of the characters and each of the pictures stands out with unique features and characteristics with rings, sword, flower, book etc. However, the hand of Sauron can be determined from one of the posters.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video on September 2.
