Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor had an intimate wedding ceremony at their Bandra residence on April 14. Months after the wedding, Alia announced her pregnancy. Congratulating the couple on the news, Ranbir's mother, Neetu Kapoor, shared an unseen picture on Instagram. The picture was clicked right after Ranbir proposed to Alia. Now, in the first episode of Koffee With Karan 7, Alia spoke about her husband's surprise proposal to her right in the middle of Maasai Mara National Reserve in South Africa.
While Alia didn't want to disclose details, she shared, "It is a personal and special moment to me and I wish to keep it to myself. But I would like to say Ranbir totally blew my mind away with his planning. I wasn't even expecting it and we weren't even talking about it. Yes, we were talking about it but there was so much happening like the pandemic so we thought of not discussing it and going with our feeling. That's what he did. He didn't tell anyone and carried the ring to the most amazing place- Maasai Mara National Reserve. He proposed to me right in the middle of the jungle. After it was over, he had planted a guide to take our picture also. After it was done, I was still dealing with the shock and got to know he managed to get the pictures too. He knows how much pictures matter to me."
Alia further revealed Ranveer Singh's reaction to Ranbir's proposal. Ranveer shared the couch with Alia on Koffee With Karan 7's first episode. The host of the show Karan Johar also shared that he got emotional when Alia told him about her decision to marry Ranbir.
Alia and Ranbir will be seen together in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra.
