Dahaad, headlined by Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah, is the first-ever Indian series to premiere at The Berlinale and compete in the Berlinale Series Competition. The team of the show attended the much-anticipated premiere held on Wednesday (as per India Standard Time) in Berlin, Germany.
Sonakshi and Vijay along with director Ruchika Oberoi, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti walked the red carpet yesterday. While Sonakshi made a stylish appearance in a shimmery blue outfit, Vijay was all suited up. Zoya was dressed in a printed outfit. Reema and Ruchika looked stylish too.
Dahaan, which is yet to get a release date in India, competed against seven shows from across the globe. The show will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. It is set in a small, sleepy town in Rajasthan and follows the story of Sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati and her colleagues at the local police station. She is put at the forefront when a series of women are mysteriously found dead in public bathrooms and has to chase the serial killer who is on the run.
Dahaad is produced by Excel Media & Entertainment and Tiger Baby, It is directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi. The producers are Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Farhan Akhtar. In the past, Zoya's film Gully Boy (2019) made it to the Berlinale.
