Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi's web series Farzi was widely appreciated by the audience and critics alike. Directed by Raj & DK for Prime Video, the thriller has been drawing viewers ever since it premiered. Now, defeating popular and acclaimed series like Mirzapur 2, Panchayat 2, and others, the show has secured the top position in the list of the most-watched Indian original series on OTT.
According to Ormax's report, Farzi has an estimated viewership of 37 million. The statistics are only depicting the viewership in India and the global numbers are yet to be disclosed. Farzi surpassed shows like Ajay Devgn's Rudra (35.2 million viewers), Mirzapur season 2 (32.5 million viewers), Jitendra Kumar’s Panchayat 2 (29.6 million viewers), Pankaj Tripathi’s Criminal Justice (29.1 million viewers) and Anil Kapoor- Aditya Roy Kapur’s The Night Manager (27.2 million viewers).
Farzi also stars Bhuvan Arora, Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon and Amol Palekar. It premiered on Prime Video on February 10. It marked Shahid's web debut and Vijay's first Hindi language series.
Farzi revolves around Sunny, an artist propelled into the high-stakes world of counterfeiting when he creates the perfect fake currency note. The second season of the series is expected to flag off but it could take some time.
