MET Gala 2022: Fusing American theme with Indian representation, Natasha Poonawalla brings the best of both worlds in Sabyasachi x Schiaparelli haute couture creation!

The much-awaited MET Gala for the year has finally come to an end and oh boy, seems like everyone came prepared! Held on May 2 at 6 PM ET, the Oscars of Fashion witnessed an unleashed sartorial extravaganza on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The crème de la crème of the fashion industry left no stone unturned to rock this year’s theme "In America: An Anthology of Fashion." While many of them stuck to scintillating ballroom gowns and sheer naked dresses, Natasha Poonawalla took a different route and may we say, it paid off!

Giving the videsi theme a desi spin, the diva transformed into the goddess of beauty, Aphrodite in a Sabyasachi x Schiaparelli haute couture creation. Styled efficiently by Anaita Shroff Adajania, Natasha nailed the gilded glamour theme dressed in a Sabyasachi couture sari that came with a stunning trail embroidered with silk floss thread and embellished with bevel beads, semi-precious stones, crystals, sequins and appliquéd printed velvet. The outfit was cinched and furthermore elevated with a hand-forged metal bustier that ensued a goddess vibe to her overall look.

Speaking of the jewels, Natasha adorned limited edition collectibles from the shelves of Sabyasachi’s Curiosity Art & Antiquity Project that included a stack of chunky kadas, long bedazzling earrings, stunning rings and a headgear adorned with semi-precious stones. In the glam department, the diva oozed radiance opting for a bronze, sculpted look and styled her long locks in wavy curls. Brownie points for her gem-studded manicure that went in sync with the desired look!

God is indeed a WOMAN!
