Box Office: Katrina-Ishaan Khatter-Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Phone Bhoot manage a decent start; Janhvi Kapoor-Sunny Kaushal’s Mili and Sonakshi Sinha-Huma Qureshi’s Double XL struggle to cash in

There are currently three big films running at the box office for the audience to pick from – Phone Bhoot, Mili and Double XL. However, neither of the films has managed to rake in a lot of moolah at the box office although Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s horror-comedy Phone Bhoot has fared better than Janhvi Kapoor’s Mili and Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi’s Double XL.

After being released, Phone Bhoot sees growth in the evening and night shows and has earned Rs 2.05 cr, which is an impressive response for a film with a new genre. This clean family entertainer has roped in viewers of all ages and is appealing to youths and kids. With Katrina Kaif being the most charming ghost, and Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter being the quirkiest ghostbuster, the film has definitely made a space in the audience's heart.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Ravi Shankaran and Jasvinder Singh Bath, Phone Bhoot is produced by Excel Entertainment, headed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The film released in theaters on 4th November 2022.

Janhvi Kapoor’s survival thriller Mili co-starring Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa has not been able to get the cash registers ringing. Mili is the official Hindi remake of Malayalam hit Helen and is about a woman trapped inside a freezer fighting for her life. According to a report by a trade portal, Mili has minted a paltry Rs 35-40 lakhs at the box office. Mili is directed by Mathukutty Xavier and produced by Janhvi's father Boney Kapoor.

On the other hand, the other female-driven film Double XL is also struggling to find takers. Starring Sonakshi, Huma, Mahat Raghavendra and Zaheer Iqbal the slice-of-life drama depicts the trials and tribulations of two plus-sized women as they try to make their dreams come true despite the prejudice and criticisms of the society. According to the trade portal, Double XL managed to garner Rs 12-15 lakhs on the day of its release.

Double XL is directed by Satramm Ramani and co-produced by Huma and her brother Saqib Saleem.
