Shailesh Lodha's exit from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah came across as a major shock to fans of the longest-running sitcom. He played the role of Taarak Mehta, an author who often comes to his friend Jethalal's rescue. Shailesh was replaced by Sachin Shroff. Now, months after quitting the show, the actor-poet broke his silence on ending his association with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completely.
In a recent interview, Shailesh spoke about quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. However, he refused to share details. Instead, he told, "We Indians are emotional so attachment is natural. I call myself an emotional idiot. I am a sentimental fool. You work on something for 14 years, attachment is natural."

When asked about the reason, he recited a couplet by Bashir Badr: 'Kuch toh majbooriyan rahi hongi, yon hi koi bewafaa nahi hota.' The actor further added, "It’s not like I won’t talk about why I left the show but I am waiting for the right time."
A few months ago, Shailesh stopped shooting for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to sign a new project. Despite differences, he would shoot for his monologues.
