Looking lovely indeed was attractive actor Kriti Sanon who was the shining showstopper at Shantanu & Nikhil’s show at FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week at Jio World Centre.
But we are getting ahead of ourselves. She was the last model on the catwalk. Before that you soaked in the sight of the chandeliers, some hanging from the high ceiling an
others touching the ramp and giving off that glow that gladdened the heart. The designer duo called their collection Capella as they revisited the opulence that was served by the Baroque era and its majestic artefact: the chandelier.

Belonging to that era you had embroideries inspired by the Baroque motif leaves, lace and architecture. The look was exaggerated in terms of silhouettes, mainly to math that opulence of the early 17th century. The colour story was off-white, mint-gold and charcoal, all being an ode to the lavish interiors of a Baroque palace. It was a revisit to the tiers of tulle and veil, accentuating the sensuous richness and beauty of that movement in time.
And to keep the very authenticity of the art alive, the designer duo made use of Baroque lace embroidered in Dori work. Yes, each piece had a tale to tell, an eye to catch and an art to define. And then there was Kriti Sanon who added that glow and grandeur to it all!
