Jacqueline Fernandez got some relief in the Rs 200 crore extortion case regarding conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. She was granted an interim bail on bond of Rs 50,000 in Delhi’s Patiala House Court. She had appeared in the court as a co-accused in the case for her alleged linkup with Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Jacqueline sneaked into the court disguised as a lawyer wearing a white shirt and black trousers. The next date of hearing is October 22 this year.
The Enforcement Directorate had filed a supplementary charge sheet before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act court naming the actress as an accused. In cognizance of the charge sheet, the court had asked Jacqueline to appear on September 26. The actress has been questioned several times by the authorities in the case. She has been accused of accepting gifts worth crores from Sukesh at a time when he was in Tihar Jail and was being investigated in the money laundering case. It was also reported that the actress was in love with the conman and was planning to marry him.

Jacqueline was issued a fresh summon and asked to appear for investigation by Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on August 29 as she did not appear for it. Later, the actress’ lawyer assured that she will join the investigation and co-operate with the probe agency. Last week, Jacqueline’s stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi was questioned by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police for nearly eight hours in connection with the case and she admitted that she knew about their relationship. Reportedly, Chandrashekhar had approached Ellawadi to ask for suggestions from her on the brands of clothes worn and favoured by Jacqueline in a bid to woo her.
She also told the police that when the actress came to know about Chandrashekhar’s arrest, she broke all ties with him. As per police investigations, the conman had offered a motorcycle to Jacqueline’s agent, Prashant, but he declined to accept it. Still, Chandrashkhar left the bike’s keys at Prashant’s place which was later seized by the police. Chandrashekhar has been accused of cheating many people, including high-profile individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh.
