Shehnaaz Gill's father, Santokh Singh Sukh, reportedly received a death threat on Friday on a phone call. According to reports, Santokh approached the Punjab police and claimed that the caller identified himself as Happy and threatened to kill him before Diwali.
As per reports, Santokh in his statement to Amritsar SSP (Rural) Swapan Sharma said he had received several death threat calls in the past and despite making complaints to the police, no action was taken. He reportedly told, "Not a single arrest was made by the police earlier. If the police failed to provide him safe and secure atmosphere, I would be forced to leave Punjab."
In addition, Santokh told the cops that since he has been associated with numerous Hindu organisations, he receives such threats. He requested the police authorities to investigate the matter and arrest the suspects.
In December last year, Santokh was attacked by anonymous men in Amritsar. Four bullets were fired at his vehicle and he escaped unhurt in the firing. The incident took place days after Santokh joined Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
Santokh and the family are yet to react to the news.
