Akshay Kumar reveals Raj Thackeray convinced him to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat', says 'got the role because of him'

Akshay Kumar is all set to make his Marathi debut with Mahesh Manjrekar's next based on Shivaji Maharaj. The actor will be playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the film titled Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat. Produced by Vaseem Qureshi, the film is based on the story of seven valiant warriors who had the sole aim of bringing Shivaji Maharaj's dream of Swarajya to reality, writing one of the most glorious pages of history

Now, in an interview, Akshay revealed that it was actually Raj Thackeray who assured him that he could play this part. AK said, “I got the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj because of Raj Thackeray. He assured me that I could play this role. This is a big deal for me. I will give my all for this role.” Apart from Akshay Kumar and Mahesh Manjrekar, state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's Raj Thackeray were also present at the film's launch event held on Wednesday.

The film also has an ensemble cast consisting of Jay Dudhane, Utkarsha Shinde, Vishal Nikam, Virat Madke, Hardik Joshi, Satya, Akshay, Nawab Khan, and Praveen Tarde.

Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat,  is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and Produced by Vaseem Qureshi - The film is a Qureshi Production presentation and is all set to release in cinemas on Diwali 2023 in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.
