Pathaan: CBFC removes 'close-up shot of buttocks' and 'side pose' from Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone's Besharam Rang, orange swimsuit scene not cut- Reports

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham's Pathaan is one of the most anticipated films of the year. It is scheduled to release on January 25. Just 20 days before it hits the silver screen, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) directed the makers to incorporate some modifications to get a green signal. According to a leaked CBFC certificate, the board has suggested as many as 12 modifications.

The cuts advised by the CBFC were majorly related to the dialogues. As per the leaked image, the makers of Pathaan followed the suggestions and reportedly replaced the term 'RAW' with 'Hamare''Langde Lulle' with 'Toote Foote' and the word 'PMO' was removed from a scene whereas 'PM' was replaced either by President or Minister. Apart from these changes, the word 'Ashok Chakra' was removed and replaced by 'Veer Puraskar', 'ex-KGB' with 'ex-SBU' and 'Mrs. Bharatmata' with 'Hamari Bharatmata'. 'Scotch' was replaced by 'drink' in the dialogue 'Isse sasti scotch nahin mili'. Further, the word 'Black Prison, Russia' which was used in a dialogue was replaced by 'Black Prison'.

It didn't end here. With all eyes on Besharam Rang, the makers of Pathaan reportedly made just 3 changes to it. As per CBFC's instructions, the close-up shot of buttocks, 'side pose (partial nudity)' shots and visuals of sensuous dance movements accompanying the lyrics 'Bahut tang kiya' were removed or curtailed and replaced with 'suitable shots'. However, it is still not clear whether the shots of Deepika dressed in an orange swimsuit in the song were retained.

After the makers of Pathaan made the necessary changes, the CBFC reportedly granted a U/A certificate to the film. The final runtime, as per the certificate, is 146 minutes (2 hours 26 minutes). The certificate was granted on January 2.

Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, is produced by Yash Raj Films.
