Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che has completed a decade today. The film marked Sushant Singh Rajput's Bollywood debut. Co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh, it became a critical as well as a commercial success. On Kai Po Che's 10th anniversary, Abhishek shared rare pictures from the film's set with the actors. Penning a beautiful note, he thanked fans for making it a classic.
"When a movie hits a decade and still finds a place in people’s hearts it gets termed a Classic. Thank you, all of u, from the bottom of my heart," Abhishek wrote on Instagram.
Post Kai Po Che, Sushant went on to become one of the most sought-after actors in the Indian film industry. He headlined big-scale films like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), Kedarnath (2018) and Chhichhore (2019) to name a few. The actor is no more. He died by suicide on June 14, 2020. Rajkummar, a National Film Award winner, starred in films like Aligarh (2015), Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Stree (2018), Badhaai Do (2021) and many other critically and commercially successful films. Amit gave memorable performances in films like Sultan (2016), Gold (2018) and Super 30 (2019).
Kai Po Che was adapted from Chetan Bhagat's 2008 novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. It was produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur under UTV Motion Pictures.
Workwise, Abhishek will be directing Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani in their untitled debut film.
