Jaya Bachchan is known for sharing a bitter relationship with the paparazzi. She is often criticised for her impolite behaviour with them. However, like a sudden twist in the tale, the veteran actress cooperated with the paparazzi like never before at an event hosted by designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. On Thursday, Jaya attended the event and surprised everyone by posing for the shutterbugs, happily. 

While posing on a rare instance, Jaya said, "Dekha hass rahi hoon." In another video from the same event, the veteran actress explained the reason behind lashing out at the paparazzi. She told, "Jab aisa hota hai na (public events), toh main photo dene ko taiyaar hun but jab kuch personal hota hai aur app log chup kar photo lete ho, merko acha nahi lagta."

Not just this, when a paparazzo saw her and asked a fellow photographer to shut the video mode, Jaya smiled and said, "Main taiyyar hoon.” The actress posed with Sandeep Khosla too and also recognised a photographer who has been in the industry for several years. She also clicked a picture with a paparazzo. Before heading inside, Jaya, very sweetly replied to a photographer's namaste and even said “You are a cool guy” to a person who complimented her.

In 2023, Jaya spoke about her relationship with the paparazzi on her granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda's podcast titled What The Hell Navya. She explained, "I hate it. I despise it. I despise the people who interfere in your personal life and fill their stomachs by selling those products. I hate it, I'm disgusted with such people. I always tell them, I say, ‘Aapko sharam nahi aati hai?"

Last year, things turned bitter between Jaya and the paparazzi when the latter was being covered at an event in the city. While the photographers were clicking pictures and videos of her with Navya, a paparazzo stumbled and the senior actress said, "serves you well. I hope you double and fall.” She also asked the paparazzi, “Aap log kaun hain? Aap log media se hain? Kaunsi media se hain?” When the people introduced themselves as ‘paparazzi’, she walked away towards the gate of the venue.
