Imran Khan’s estranged wife Avantika Malik on Tuesday took to Instagram Stories to share a video of Miley Cyrus dancing to one of her songs with a caption that reads, “divorce was the best thing for her.” Seconding the caption, she went on to write, “Not only for her…#justsaying,” giving cryptic hints that her divorced with Imran has come through and they are officially separated now.
Avantika and Imran were childhood sweethearts and after dating for eight years had tied the knot in 2011. Their daughter Imara was born in 2014 but they soon went their separate ways in 2019 and have been living apart ever since. After Avantika posted the video on Instagram Stories, netizens began speculating whether their divorce has been finalized.
A screenshot of Avantika's post was shared on Reddit with the caption, "Imran Khan and Avantika Malik have finalised their divorce?" A person commented, "It's better to part ways than be bitter the whole life." A comment read, "I thought they divorced a year or two back." "I always feel that anyone who posts shady s*** about their former/separated/divorced partners on social media is intolerable," wrote another person.
Avantika’s post comes just over a month after Imran made a rare public appearance holding hands with actor Lekha Washington. Imran was spotted with Lekha in Mumbai in February. The actors had worked together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola in 2013. He had made his acting debut with the 2008 film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and followed it up with films such as Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Delhi Belly and I Hate Love Storys. He was last seen in the 2015 movie Katti Batti opposite Kangana Ranaut.
