Shah Rukh Khan is busy like never before. The global Bollywood star has finished Yash Raj Films' Pathaan and is currently juggling Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki and Atlee's Jawan. His schedule has been smartly divided between these two projects, which are completely different from one another. Both projects are in production and shaping up well for release in 2023. While the social drama Dunki still has a long way to go, we hear Jawan is over 70% finished and will be wrapped up in about four months.
"Jawan went on floors in September and has so far been shot in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The next schedule begins today in Aurangabad, where some crucial action sequences will be shot. This 8-day stint will be followed by many more different chunks in various cities over the next few months. Atlee is expected to wrap this film by March next year and release it in June 2023. The director and his team are simultaneously editing the film after every schedule to achieve the release target," a source close to the production told us, adding that none of the lead actors of this film have finished their portions yet, including Deepika Padukone, who appears in a cameo role as SRK’s wife. Deepika is expected to shoot her remaining portion by the end of this month.
A commercial action entertainer with a universal story that goes beyond language and geography, Jawan is one of the most anticipated films coming out next year and marks Shah Rukh’s second release in 2023 after the espionage thriller Pathaan, scheduled to hit cinemas on January 25. The Red Chillies Entertainment production is a hugely-mounted project and features action sequences choreographed by Hollywood stunt directors like Craig Macrae (Mad Max: Fury Road, Avengers: Age of Ultron), Yannick Ben, and India’s Sunil Rodrigues. Tamil composer Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in for music, while Anthony Ruben, who has worked with Atlee on all his directorial projects, is editing the film. Jawan also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Yogi Babu, Sunil Grover, and Ridhi Dogra in pivotal roles.
